The power cord of doom

I've been at my mom's house for a couple weeks now, and though there have been some noises at night, they've been the standard sounds. Nothing new.

Then Mom and I were discussing the stuff here, talking about how it got worse when the builder destroyed more forest to create another street for the neighborhood. Tons of new houses, and there's a dead end road like they plan to keep going, tearing down more trees and expanding beyond that new street. That new street went in around the same time as the thing on the bed, the doppelganger, etc. happened. We also discussed stuff my sister told me she'd experienced here (which includes hearing someone in the hall closet messing with stuff loudly, much like I heard when I was here about 10 years ago).

We'd just finished talking about it when a power cord by my mother's chair whipped around and hit her ankle. I saw the top of it move (it was dangling over the back of her chair) and heard it hit. Her dog came screaming in to snarl and snap and bark at the air around her chair, and it took a minute to calm her down.

We'd both assumed the cord was moved by her dog until we realized the pupper was in another room when that happened. When Mom looked around for the dog that wasn't there, she didn't see anything else, either. We have no explanation for the cord's movement.

Two days of stuff

First incident: My second night visiting Linda's house, it sounded like one of her dogs was messing with my door, rustling against it, pawing at it, etc. All were in bed.

Second incident: I had just returned from an outing, and nobody was home. I unpacked groceries and then went back to my side of the house to use the restroom. Turning on the light automatically turns on the fan, so it was running when I heard the banging and rustling of people returning. It sounded like my kids were out there, but it was muted by the fan. After several seconds, I heard what sounded like one of my kids saying, "Mom?" It sounded weird, though, and I knew I wouldn't be heard well over the fan, so I didn't answer. Then I heard, even more muted, as if the speaker had turned around, "I think she's back there."

I left my bathroom a minute later expecting my kids and Ken to tell me about their day. The house was empty.

About five minutes later, they drove up and came into the house. They had not been there earlier.

Something was on the bed

KL posting for Linda. This happened a few months ago.

Linda was asleep in her bed and woke when it sounded like someone bumped hard into the running board of the bed. She opened her eyes, thinking it was her husband, but he wasn't there.

However, someone was crawling backwards off the bed on his side. The someone had brown, very long, very thin arms--elbows crooked up high--that disappeared over the side of the bed as she watched.

Linda lay there for a couple of minutes, quietly freaking out, until her husband finally emerged from the bathroom behind her. Just looking at her, he knew she was upset, but at that point, nothing was amiss in the room.

Except, of course, something crawled off the !@#$ bed and disappeared. I mean...

Yesterday was a playful day for the spirit(s) in this house. I was working downstairs and my husband was upstairs in his recliner after coming home from having a spinal block. The pups gathered around in the kitchen (I was just aware that they were around). A playful "Boo!" went out to them and they scattered! Sounded like my husband. So I immediately went upstairs to see if I had caught him out of his chair. Nope...he was right there!

Later in the evening, my husband asked if Madi had gone outside. I said I didn't let her out as I was closing the back door. He said I just saw her walk through here. He was surprised to find her under the bed. I told him that I see a little white/gray dog a lot. I really think that it is our Yorkie Colonel who passed away in 2006.

About 2:30 in the morning we were awakened by our television in the bedroom coming on suddenly and loud! We both sat up in bed puzzled. I reached over to the opposite side of my bedside table and turned it off. We went back to sleep, but I couldn't help feel that this was someone getting our attention because they needed to tell us something. Or maybe just being playful!

Knife in the floor

Transcribing for Linda:

Your Dad was not at home. He had been gone 5 min when I turned around to walk back through the kitchen and saw this immediately. Your dad said it was on the counter to the right of the stove when he left. It was in the floor the left side of the stove. I really got a creepy feeling when I saw it.

December 18, 2016

Kenny and I and our 3 pups were sitting on the couch which backs up to the wall this Sunday night. There was a huge bang, bang, bang, and the couch vibrated so much that I thought it had broken into pieces and was making all the noise...either that or someone was banging on the front door so hard, that it was vibrating the floor and the wall. Kenny looked at me, the dogs barked...then quickly stopped...(very out of the ordinary for them) and then they didn't move or bark at all. Kenny got up, went to the bedroom and came out with a flashlight and his gun, and then searched the house, the backyard and the front door and front yard. Nothing!

We lifted the cushions off the couch and saw that the hide-a-bed was still attached and everything was normal.

Weird shit!

On Thursday, December 1st, I had my Christmas Bunco Party at a location outside my home. I left home at 5:30 pm and didn't arrive back home until 10:30 pm. (We have dinner and Dirty Santa, so it is a special night once a year, and no one leaves early!)

The next day, my husband, told me a strange story. He was sitting on the couch which faces the kitchen, now that we have the Christmas tree up as we had to rearrange the living room. He looked up from his computer and saw me at the end of the breakfast bar where I sometimes keep my computer, when I don't need to be closed up in my office. His thoughts were that he didn't see me come in or hear the dogs bark announcing my arrival. He put his computer down to come to talk to me, and I was not there...

I wasn't there because it was around 9:30 pm and I was at bunco participating in Dirty Santa. He had to admit that this was very strange. I reminded him that something like this happened with our daughters in Houston many years ago at Christmas time. Wonder if it just this time of year. But "he" who poo poos the stories I tell, told me this story. I don't think he will be a disbeliever anymore!
